Our patients range in age from seven right up to retirement. Why? Because orthodontic treatment is suitable for anyone who is seeking their perfect smile. We often meet patients for whom orthodontic services were not available in their childhood and are now in a position to undergo the process of crafting that straight smile they always wanted. If you’re an adult considering orthodontic treatment, take a read and find out more about how we can help you.
It’s Never Too Late
There is a common misconception that orthodontic treatment is only available to children and teenagers. Not true! In fact, thanks to the wide number of discrete orthodontic options now available, more adults than you know are working to get their perfect smile. And you could be one of them.
Find Your Confidence
Studies have shown that a crooked smile has a significant impact on a person’s confidence. Not feeling comfortable when expressing positive emotions or even talking can impact your day to day life in ways you don’t even realise as you condition yourself to avoid showing your teeth. Orthodontic treatment can help uncover a healthier, more confident smile you’ll be proud to show off. Increased confidence levels are connected to improved social skills, success at work and overall happiness levels. Why not let the orthodontists at Orthodontic Specialists of Melbourne help to find a new you?
Cutting Edge Treatment Options
Still hesitant about being fitted with a mouthful of metal? Luckily, orthodontic technology has come a long way in the last few decades and there are now a number of discrete treatment options available. The ground-breaking technology developed by Invisalign in the late 1990s offers a comfortable and removable set of plates which can be used for mild to moderate alignment issues. If you have severe malocclusion issues, metal braces may be necessary. However, lingual braces can be fitted to the back of your teeth (near your tongue) so they cannot be seen. If you’re concerned about the appearance of braces, rest assured that technological developments have made orthodontics faster, more comfortable and more discrete than ever before.
More Than Appearances
In our teen years, the motivation behind orthodontic treatment may be purely cosmetic. As adults, however, we can understand the health benefits which come with a straight smile. Not only is your oral health and hygiene improved with easy to brush teeth but other aspects of your health can be improved too. Crooked or misaligned teeth can lead to digestive and even heart conditions as well as causing speech impediments and breathing difficulties. As well as achieving that perfect smile, you’ll also be improving many other aspects of your overall health.
No Limits
As long as your teeth are healthy and in good condition, orthodontic treatment can begin. Age isn’t a factor when it comes to achieving your perfect smile, so wait no longer. Contact Orthodontic Specialists of Melbourne today and book in for your complimentary appointment.
